Life can’t get much worse for romance writer Libby Holliday. She’s been dumped by her agent and her publisher, and now she’s discovered her fiancé, Jeremy, is seeing their mutual friend, the shameless Ruth-Ann, behind her back.

Lulubelle proves to be the diva of divas, but there are some benefits – her handsome and enigmatic manager, Leo, to name just one. If only Libby could forget about her other male addiction . .

Background to the Book (Website Exclusive)

Over the last few years celebrity novels have become hugely popular. Of course, most of the books are not written by the celebrities at all, they have highly experienced ghost writers to do that for them.

As a writer I’ve often wondered what it must be like to work in this way. What if you vision for the book was very different to that of your celebrity ‘boss’ (plus his or her agent presumably)? This ‘what if’ sparked off the idea for my ninth novel, The Loving Kind. I’m also interested in cosmetic surgery, or more accurately the kind of women who have surgery and the reasons behind doing this, which gave me another theme for the book.

I created two very different characters to tell my story – Lulabelle, a model who is addicted to holding on to her looks, by any means necessary, and Libby, her tireless ghost writer who has major problems of her own.

The Loving Kind was fascinating to research, and I hope it’s as interesting and as fun to read as it was to write.
